Upcoming Trainings/Events in Cascadia!
Greetings! While NEST is not organizing the following events, we would like to help announce two awesome, informative trainings scheduled for the month of JULY! They are the Cascadia Forest Defenders Action Camp and the Trans and Womens Action Camp.

(1) Cascadia Forest Defense 2011 Action Camp, July 22nd-25th
Elliott State Forest
This July activists are invited to to support meaningful action in defense of our beloved, ancient coastal rainforest, the Elliott State Forest.
Under the watchful mismanagement of the Oregon Department of Forestry, timber barons are actively razing this rare, 93,000 acre cathedral of previously untouched wilderness. It’s time for friends of Cascadia to take a stand against… the dozens of clearcuts on the table for 2011-2012.
Workshops will include: Map and compass, backwoods stealth, survival and evasion, forest games, tree climbing and anti-oppression.

(2) Trans and Womyn’s Action Camp (TWAC)
July 27th-August 1st.
Location TBA (in a forest in OR or WA)
Please schedule the 3rd Annual Trans & Womyn’s Action Camp into your summer’s travel plans, and make your way into the lovely woods of Cascadia for another radical and magickal gathering or skill-shares, workshops, networking, and fun!
T.W.A.C. standing for the Trans and Womyn’s Action Camp is getting ready for another summer in Cascadia. Expect to make awesome friends, share stories and skills, explore the forest and experience …what kicking ass grrl and trans style feels like. This will be the third year of Cascadia’s annual Trans and Womyn’s Action Camp with promises of an amazing space to feel safe, learn and share. Stemming from Earth First! T.W.A.C. sees an intersection between the oppression of identity and that of the wild, aiming to confront the root causes of both in this amazing week long camp!
